LIGHTNING DETECTOR INFORMATION

This is a Boltek Storm Tracker PCI lightning detector

This has been moved to Bedford and is still being calibrated

1: Lightning that is displayed, is sometimes not 100% accurate, therefore it should be used as a guide and not be used for the protection of life and/or property.

2: IC represents "in cloud" or cloud to cloud lightning. And CG represents "cloud to ground" lightning

3: The bottom left of the screenshot has a legend.

4: The + or - represents positive of negative lightning, the explanation of which can be found HERE

5: The detector hardware has limtations ie: lighting activity directly overhead or very close to the detector is sometimes plotted far away, due to the poor ability of the detector to "know" where the strikes are at this close range.
